Manipur University
Manipur University in northeastern India was founded on June 5, 1980. The campus is located in Canchipur near the ruins of the old palace of Manipur. The former Jawaharlal Nehru University Post-Graduate Centre was merged with the University on April 1, 1981.
The University campus is spread over an area of 287 acres in the historic Canchipur, the old palace of the kingdom of Manipur.
Presently, Manipur University has 72 affiliated colleges and one constituent college i.e. Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT).
