Manipur as an Educational Destination

Manipur, one of the seven states of North East India is rich in art and tradition. The state is considered to be the “Jewel of India” for its scenic beauty.

The state occupies a strong position in the literary field through the policies taken by both Central and State Government to elevate the education system. The Manipur State education policy is based on the power of Analyses, Syntheses and Applying Knowledge irrespective of their economic background and geographical areas. The people of Manipur think that choice and excellence in education do not depend on wealth but on enthusiasm and necessity.

The people of Manipur believe that education is not only student oriented, it should be society oriented. Following this conception, State Government has taken steps to offer quality education to the aspirants of North Eastern Region.

The education department of the Govt. of Manipur controls the education system of Manipur. At present, the Education Department of Manipur has four different entities viz.

1. Department of Education (University and Higher Education)
2. Department of Education (S)
3. State Council of Educational Research and Training, Government of Manipur and
4. Department of Adult Education
